Accidents: Family crashes on A33 - toddler dies

A toddler died in an accident on the A33 motorway toward Osnabrück. According to police, the car carrying the family of five collided with another vehicle while merging onto the motorway near Stukenbrock-Senne.

In the accident on Saturday evening, the 34-year-old driver and a six-year-old girl were slightly injured. The passenger and a two-year-old girl suffered serious injuries, according to police . The two-year-old's twin sister was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she died.

According to police, the father had failed to see a car approaching from behind while changing lanes. The driver of that car and the driver of a third vehicle involved were uninjured.
