“Open the doors” was the motto on February 21st in various establishments in the market town of Rankweil.
There was great interest: around 2,000 visitors took the opportunity to get to know the municipality's diverse work areas - from the town hall to the construction yard to the newly opened children's home.

The market town of Rankweil presented itself and its work areas in all their facets: In the town hall there was comprehensive information on vacancies as well as offers for families and seniors and an artwork raffle in aid of "Rankler for Rankler". The archive item of the month was also presented for the first time and will now be regularly exhibited in the Citizens' Service Center.
painting competition and new mascot
A special attraction for the youngest visitors was a painting competition: the challenge was to create a creative design of the Rankweil coat of arms. The works of the participants, whose ages range from 1.5 to 14 years, are exhibited in the town hall. The winner is chosen by a jury and can look forward to a season ticket for the Frutzau adventure pool. Another attraction for the young participants was the "Ranki" rally: those who filled up their stamp pass were able to look forward to a sticker of the market town's new mascot. They also took the story of the clever raven home with them (you can also read it at www.rankweil.at/rankisgeschichte ).

There was particularly great interest in the new Kinderhaus Markt, which was officially opened on this day. The architecturally interesting building attracted thousands of visitors and received a lot of praise: "Sensational, like a '5-star hotel' for the youngest - a dream," summed up visitor Ruth Krenn from Rankweil, for example. The Häusle-Villa and the embroidery shop were also well attended and offered the audience an insight into the "artist in residence" apartment and the results of the Rankweil children's conference. Annual passes were raffled off in the library - the winners are Hanna Steinhauser, Michael Helbock and Franziska Öhlackerer.

Exciting fleet and more
The fire engine was also used as a shuttle bus to easily reach the construction yard and the Thien area. The latter focused on topics such as civil engineering, energy and mobility, the climate forge, the future of data management and IT, and smart building management. In the construction yard, the vehicle fleet could be explored, including a new truck. At the open day, the guests were provided with culinary delights by employees of the municipality and by the Rankweil Funkenzunft.
