More and more revelers naked so as not to offend anyone

The most popular costume of the carnival season has been decided! In order to avoid hurting anyone's feelings with their outfits, most of the Rhineland fools are now avoiding offensive clothing.
Finally, the revelers are also reacting to the spirit of the times: In order not to be suspected of cultural appropriation, more and more carnival and Mardi Gras fans are now completely avoiding costumes that could be offensive in any way.
"Originally I wanted to go as Winnetou or another Indian with dreadlocks and a vagina," says Annemarie Klötsch from Cologne-Wahnheide, speaking for the many people affected in the Rhineland who are deeply unsure about what they are even allowed to wear at Carnival. "Can I go out on the street as Olaf Scholz, or am I discriminating against Smurfs, plumbers or election losers? " Klötsch wrings her hands in despair.
You can see: The times when the foolish days between Women's Carnival and Ash Wednesday were about such reactionary things as fun or social interaction regardless of social status are fortunately over.
It is hard to imagine that things could ever be the same as in 2019, the last carnival and Mardi Gras season before Corona. At that time, the most popular costumes included princes and princesses. But since Harry and Meghan have threatened to file an injunction and another Netflix season has been announced, revelers are wary of dressing up in costumes that leave such deep emotional scars.
"This year I'm finally going to celebrate Carnival in a politically correct way," explains Klötsch happily as she undresses for the neighborhood parade, "you really can't go wrong now." The 62-year-old is right on trend with her imaginative and considerate outfit. Many like-minded fools ease their consciences by going out on the streets as God created them. The unanimous opinion: you definitely won't cause offense with this Adam or Eve costume.
