In office since April: Magna Asset Management fills board position

Christian Claßen is the new CEO of real estate asset manager Magna. He has led the Hamburg-based company together with Jens Bodem since April 2025. Claßen is responsible for sales as well as the conception and development of new product ideas. Bodem covers portfolio and asset management. Sabine Lahmann, who has also been a member of the Executive Board since the merger of Magna Asset Management and Engel & Völkers Asset Management in 2023 , left the company at the end of March 2025.

Claßen has 25 years of experience in acquiring and supporting institutional investors in the real estate industry. Prior to joining, he held senior positions at various real estate investment companies, including Willis Towers Watson, Hamburg Trust REIM, and Corestate.

Focus on residential real estate market

Claßen is optimistic about the German residential real estate market: "The increased number of large-volume deals – even outside the top 7 cities – demonstrates that a market-friendly price structure has emerged after the uncertainties of recent quarters." He expects that the new price structure, combined with stable rental growth, will drive the residential real estate market in Germany in 2025 and result in a transaction volume of approximately ten billion euros.

Magna Asset Management is an independent investment, asset, and fund manager based in Hamburg. The company develops customized investment strategies for institutional investors and manages open-ended and closed-ended special AIFs through an external and in-house asset management company. The focus is on residential, office, and hotel properties in Germany with selected locations abroad.
