IG Metall calls for speed in coalition projects

"From IG Metall's perspective, it is crucial that these right impulses quickly become tangible for everyone in the country and lead to more confidence for people and companies," Benner told the Funke media group newspapers. "There's not much time left until summer – and a lot still needs to happen." At the same time, she praised the coalition committee's "starting signal," saying that it included many measures that IG Metall had long been pushing for: "Investments should come quickly, planning and approval for hydrogen, wind power, and heat technologies should be simplified, the electricity tax should be reduced, and measures to reduce grid charges and promote electromobility should be implemented," Benner listed. She also particularly highlighted the Collective Bargaining Agreement Act, describing the measure, which is intended to strengthen collective bargaining agreements, as "long overdue." "This will ensure that more people are paid more fairly and reliably, a good and correct step," Benner explained.
