He was the face of the Greens in the election campaign, the entire campaign was tailored to him. On the morning of the bitter defeat, Robert Habeck 's portrait was still emblazoned larger than life on the facade of the Greens' office in Berlin-Mitte. But it was already clear at the party's committee meetings that Habeck would not remain the face of the party. A little later, the acting vice-chancellor also made his resignation public: "I will no longer claim or strive for a leading role in the Greens' personnel table," Habeck said that morning during an appearance at the Berlin Federal Press Conference together with Annalena Baerbock.
