Mönchengladbach-Dahl, May 4, 2025, 4:55 a.m., Hofstraße - Early this morning, the fire department was called to an apartment building on Hofstraße.

Fire Department: Burnt food - one person injured. A tenant heard the alarm sound of a smoke detector and the smell of fire. Emergency personnel found a heavily smoke-filled apartment on the third floor. The cause was burnt food on the stove. The tenant was inside the apartment and inhaled smoke. He received emergency medical treatment and was transported by ambulance to a municipal hospital for further treatment. Firefighters removed the burnt food from the stove, extinguished the fire in the sink, and turned off the stove. Finally, a high-performance fan was used to ventilate the apartment. The fire engine from Fire and Rescue Station III (Rheydt), the fire engine from Fire and Rescue Station II (Holt), the Rheydt unit of the volunteer fire department, an ambulance, an emergency medical vehicle, and the command and control unit of the professional fire department were on scene.
