In the western Russian region of Bryansk, a passenger train derailed following the collapse of a road bridge. Seven people were killed in the accident, the region's governor, Alexander Bogomas, wrote on Telegram overnight. About 30 injured people, including two children, were taken to nearby hospitals. The railway company reported an "illegal interference with transport traffic."

According to media reports, the collapse of the road bridge over the tracks was preceded by an explosion. The site of the collapse is located a good 80 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian war of aggression for more than three years. Ukrainian intelligence services regularly carry out acts of sabotage and attacks on Russian territory.
