According to the survey, 66 percent of Germans currently view the USA negatively, compared to just 48 percent last year.
Sweden and Mexico particularly criticalThe US's reputation under Trump declined significantly in large parts of Europe, with the biggest drop in Poland, according to the survey. In most of the countries surveyed by Pew Research, Trump's character and policies were met with little sympathy. Trump achieved his worst ratings in neighboring Mexico, which he had repeatedly attacked and pressured with his immigration policies during his first term in office.
