Taskus share: battle for ground

Taskus shares are struggling for stability after the failed takeover attempt by Blackstone. Analysts are divided, while the price is trading well below its annual high.
Taskus closed Friday with a slight gain at $14.10 – but appearances are deceptive. Since the failed takeover attempt by Blackstone, the stock has been struggling for stability.
Divided analyst landscapeWhile Weiss Ratings only issued a "Hold" rating on Saturday, other firms paint a very different picture. Baird upgraded the stock from "Hold" to "Strong Buy" in mid-October and raised its price target. The reason given was strong growth and an attractive valuation following the failed buyout. Morgan Stanley is a completely different story – it downgraded the firm from "Overweight" to "Equal Weight" in September. The average consensus is currently "Moderate Buy" with a price target of $17.25.
Blackstone deal collapses – share price plummetsThe real turning point: On October 8, shareholders rejected the takeover by Blackstone and the co-founders. The offer of $16.50 per share failed to secure the necessary majority. The result was a stock market earthquake:
- 12.8% loss on the day of announcement
- Another 5.7% decline two days later
- Over 20% loss last month
The stock is now trading well below its 52-week high of $19.60. CEO Bryce Maddock subsequently promised a reorientation toward the AI era.
