Municipal Police officers arrived at the scene to corroborate the report. Upon arriving, they interviewed the son, who stated that he hadn't heard from his mother in days, so after receiving no response to his phone calls, he decided to go to her house to look for her. However, upon arriving and receiving no response to his knocks on the door, he decided to force his way in. Unfortunately, upon doing so, he was hit by a strong odor of putrefaction , as the woman, identified as Juana, was already in an advanced state of decomposition, and her pets were devouring her.
Officers from the State Attorney General's Office arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area while awaiting forensic examinations. Investigative officers and forensic experts confirmed that the woman had been dead for approximately five days. Environmental Police officers arrived at the scene and seized the dogs, which were taken to the Rabies Control Center, where they will remain under safekeeping. Finally, the woman's body was removed by a funeral home and taken to the Forensic Medical Service for a legal autopsy.
