Gaza Strip: The death toll from malnutrition in children has risen to 100 since the start of Israel's offensive against Hamas.

The number of children who have died in Gaza from causes related to malnutrition or hunger since the start of the Israeli offensive rose to 100 on Sunday , according to the latest count published by the Palestinian enclave's Health Ministry.
This means that almost half of the total number of deaths from malnutrition, which now stands at 210, have been children in these nearly two years of the Israeli offensive against Gaza.
Hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded five deaths from starvation yesterday, Saturday, including two children, according to a ministry statement.
During the month of July, deaths in Gaza due to lack of food soared after months of blocking the entry of humanitarian aid by Israel, which controls all access to the territory.

Between March 2 and May 19, the blockade was complete, while the flow of aid is now very limited and insufficient, humanitarian organizations denounce.
Israel said Sunday that in the last week—August 3-9—1,900 truckloads of humanitarian aid were "collected and distributed" in Gaza, an average of 270 trucks per day compared to the 600 needed, according to humanitarian organizations, to cover the needs of Gazans.
Gaza hospitals recorded 61 deaths on Saturday. Meanwhile, hospitals in the Gaza Strip recorded 61 deaths throughout Saturday, two of them recovered from the rubble, according to a tally published Sunday by the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry.

This brings the death toll from Israel's offensive against Gaza to 61,430 since it began on October 7, 2023, in retaliation for the attack by the Gaza Strip's militias (led by Hamas) on Israeli territory, in which some 1,200 people died.
Another 363 people injured in bombings and shootings along the Strip were also hospitalized, bringing the total from nearly two years of the offensive to 153,213.
The ministry is also conducting a separate tally since Israel broke the ceasefire in Gaza on March 18, launching a new offensive against the enclave under the name "Gideon's Chariots."
