Grupo Firme receives threats with alleged narco-banners to avoid singing at the Mazatlán Carnival

TIJUANA.— Grupo Firme has become a trending topic on social media since the night of last Tuesday, February 25, when it was reported that the gang led by Eduin Caz was threatened.
With a narco-banner allegedly from organized crime, this is how musicians of the Mexican regional genre were threatened to cancel their performance at the Mazatlán Carnival.
According to local media, on the afternoon of February 25, a narco-banner was discovered on a vehicular bridge in Colonia La Gloria, in Tijuana, addressed to the gang behind hits such as “Ya supérame,” “En tu perra vida” and “El amor de su vida.”
It was also stated that the banner required them not to attend the event scheduled for March 1.
According to information published by Zeta Tijuana , around 2:16 p.m. a report was made to the emergency center about a blanket that was on the bridge along with a suspicious object.
Minutes later, municipal agents arrived at the scene and, in addition to the message, reported the discovery of human remains. Authorities have already begun the corresponding investigations.
The performers of “El toxico” were confirmed to perform at the coronation of the Carnival Queen at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium and, so far, they have not made any statement on the matter and it has not been revealed whether their performance is still on.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that figures in regional Mexican music have received this type of warning from organized crime gangs.
In January of this year, the Sonora Prosecutor's Office offered protective measures to Natanael Cano, while, in September 2023, Peso Pluma canceled his presentation in Tijuana after being threatened with death.
