It will promote graduate clusters and go for large companies

After facing a water crisis, inflation and environmental regulations in recent years, the Agri-Food Cluster of Nuevo Leon will increase programs and launch strategic projects achieved in the last 2 years to improve its activities in personnel training with a diploma program, attracting new large companies as partners and greater interaction with society.
Alberto de la Fuente Fuentes, the new president of the organization, said that the first immediate activity will be to implement and promote a new diploma program, which will improve the activities they already have for training employees of companies in this sector, to help the agroindustry face the challenges with greater competitiveness.
He indicated that the diploma and training program will be in partnership with the Tecnológico de Monterrey, and is one of the three most important projects that will be carried out.
“The objective of the training is to provide specialized training in our industry in order to generate value for both our partners and the sector in general,” he added.
Another objective will be to carry out, increase and monetize the Agroalim Business Summit and the Agroalim Fest, as well as to create a new major event for this sector that will bring them closer together to interact and communicate more with society.
And the third fundamental pillar that is also defined in the action plan of the Agrolim Mission 2024-2027, is the integration of emblematic tractor companies such as Femsa, Arca Continental and Gruma, among a total of 10 that have been identified in the state, with the purpose of continuing to consolidate business growth in the entity, detailed de la Fuente.
The director added that they will work to define support for SMEs in the sector in coordination with the Secretariats of Agricultural Development and Economy of the state government and, even, with the Secretariat of Tourism, to see how to better take advantage of the influx of visitors due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup games.
On another point, de la Fuente said that they will be closely monitoring trade relations with the United States since there are highly exportable foods, such as oranges, 95 percent of which are destined for international markets.
For his part, Javier Yesaki, outgoing president, highlighted that in the last two years the cluster has been strengthened by incorporating 50 companies, creating financing and security committees, carrying out trade missions and business meetings with companies from Chile, Brazil, Spain, Israel, Canada and Colombia, thereby boosting the competitiveness of the sector.
He said that Nuevo León is a leader in agro-food production, with the largest number of processing plants with TIF certification in the country, which places it at the forefront of safety and quality standards.
In addition, it is a leader in the production of walnut plants, a benchmark in the production of beer at an international level, a prominent producer of registered cattle and a significant participation in the poultry and cattle sectors, said Yesaki.
