Libélula Azul celebrates women's month with a day of activities in Saltillo

In the framework of International Women's Day, the Libélula Azul collective is preparing to hold a day of activities next Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 in Saltillo . The founder of the collective, Andrea Cortés, shared the details of this event.

Libélula Azul is a theatre collective that focuses on creating works for children and defending the rights of women and children. The collective was founded in 2021 by Andrea Cortés and Dalia Ponce, and has a team of women experts in different areas of theatre and communication.
The day of activities will begin on Friday, February 28 with two workshops at Carolina University: one on graphic writing from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and another on makeup from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. To participate in the graphic writing workshop, you must bring a pencil, a notebook, and a photograph from when you were a child.
On Saturday, March 1 , the collective will present its masterclass event at the García Carrillo Theater , which will include talks given by women experts in different areas, such as writing, tarot, thanatology and nutrition. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. At the close of the event, the Heras girls will broadcast a live radio program.
Also, on Saturday night, Libélula Azul will host an open mic for women at Beer Therapy in the Tulipanes neighborhood. At this event, local singers and poets will share their talents, and women in attendance will be able to go up on stage to read or sing.
The intention of this day of activities is to continue making women visible and empowering them within the Saltillo community. “We want to learn and unlearn as a community, and continue to give focus to the women of the city,” explained Andrea Cortés.
