The alleged attacker of the minor burned alive in La Isleta will remain in custody while tests are conducted.

The judge has decided to extend the detention of the suspect for allegedly burning a minor alive in the La Isleta neighborhood of Gran Canaria, while evidence is analyzed to try to clarify what happened.
The instructor has requested various tests from the Burn Hospital and the Police to get an exact idea of what really happened , while the Court studies the audiovisual recording provided by the Police from a street camera.
The minor severely burned in a fire in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the early hours of last Wednesday morning under unclear circumstances agreed today, Friday, to extend the detention of the man presented by the police as the alleged perpetrator of the arson attack until next Monday.
The judge in charge of the Investigating Court number 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (competent in the case as the Court of Violence against Children and Adolescents) considers that before making a decision on the personal situation of the person under investigation, and "there being rational indications of criminality ", several tests must be carried out, among others multiple reports from the Burns Unit of the Hospital of Seville , to determine under what circumstances the 17-year-old girl was seriously injured.
The investigator is weighing conflicting evidence about what actually happened at the time of the incident, based on a recording provided by the police with images from that early morning at the scene.
Among other evidence, the judge ordered that documents be sent to the hospital so that, within 60 hours, it could report whether it can be scientifically confirmed that the burns suffered by the victim "were caused by the spillage of flammable material ", whether "they could have been caused with the victim lying on a mattress without the use of any type of accelerant" or, on the contrary, "taking into account the injuries he presented, some type of accelerant had to be used".
The suspect will remain in prison until next Monday, when he will appear again in court to testify.
The proceedings have been initiated tentatively for the alleged commission of a crime of attempted homicide, provisional qualification and awaiting conclusions that may arise from the request for new evidence.
