The preparatory session in the Senate did not have a quorum due to two "dialogue" absences

Due to the absence of two senators from Santa Cruz , the preparatory session of the Senate was cancelled due to lack of quorum. The purpose of the session was to ratify the authorities of the Upper House, the only role with changes being that of Administrative Secretary, for which a figure close to the vice president, Victoria Villarruel , was nominated.

Due to the lack of a quorum, the Senate will proceed as provided for in Article 5 of the Senate Rules, which establishes that authorities will be automatically ratified if the Chamber has not voted for new authorities by the date of expiration of their mandates. Therefore, Bartolomé Abdala and María Laura Izzo will continue as provisional president and administrative secretary, respectively.

In addition to Silvia Sapag , from Union for the Fatherland, who will continue her role as vice president; Carolina Losada , a radical who serves as first vice president; and Alejandra María Vigo , a Peronist from Córdoba who occupies the position of second vice president.

Villarruel expected to replace Izzo with Emilio Viramonte Olmos , a businessman from Córdoba and advisor to the vice president. On Sunday night, Olmos told Infobae: "There may be problems, or someone may forget the agenda and not attend the session." In this case, those who did not provide a quorum were the senators from Santa Cruz Natalia Gadano and José María Carambia , "dialoguists" who answer to Governor Claudio Vidal.

With the absence of the Unión por la Patria bloc, added to the "no-show" of Gadano and Carmbia, the session was adjourned with 36 senators present, one less than the minimum necessary to enable the session. The Senate assured that the decision of the Santa Fe senators not to go down to the chamber was due to a request rejected by Villarruel and his advisors. According to Infobae, the Santa Cruz senators requested roles within the Senate authorities, having set their sights on the Administrative Secretary or the Provisional Presidency.
