The United States coordinated its attack on Iran's nuclear facilities with Israel, according to the Israeli military.

Israeli army spokeswoman Effie Defrin said Sunday that the US attack in Iran early this morning was coordinated with Israeli forces , and stressed that the two armies are in "close coordination."

"Early this morning, the US military attacked nuclear facilities in Iran. The attack was carried out and coordinated by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF)," Defrin said in a virtual press conference.

The spokesperson added that since the beginning of the Israeli attacks on Iran, the Israeli chief of staff "has been in continuous and daily contact" with his American counterpart.

"Our coordination with our American partner has been close over the years and has intensified even more recently," he noted.

He also said the Israeli army continues to attack Iran. "We are continuing, and we are determined to achieve the objectives of the operation," he explained, adding that Israel has "a plan with objectives" that will continue its attacks.

"I don't want to detail here the objectives we are still planning, but we have various objectives and plans, and we will activate them as needed," he indicated.

Iran's main nuclear enrichment facilities—Isfahan, Natanz, and Ford—were completely destroyed following the US attack, according to US President Donald Trump.

The Fordó facility, located about 100 kilometers south of Tehran, is considered the most important facility in Iran's nuclear program.

While Israel unequivocally supported the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, the UN rejected a military solution to the conflict, the European Commission called for restraint, diplomacy, and a return to negotiations, and several Arab and Latin American governments condemned the "aggression."

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi reacted forcefully, accusing the US of having "betrayed diplomacy" and "crossed all red lines" by attacking three nuclear facilities in his country, which constitutes an "unforgivable violation of international law."

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated US President Donald Trump for his "bold decision." "Trump and I often say, 'Peace comes through strength,'" he added.

But UN Secretary-General António Guterres said he was "gravely alarmed" and warned that "there is no military solution" to replace diplomacy.

Pope Leo XIV also lamented the "alarming news" from the Middle East and called on the entire international community to stop the war as a "moral responsibility" before it becomes an "irreparable vortex."
