Congress approves discounts of up to 90% for young people between 18 and 30 years old for summer travel.

For yet another year , young people between the ages of 18 and 30 can enjoy discounts of up to 90% on travel this summer. The "Young Summer" initiative will allow this segment of the population, for the third consecutive year, to travel throughout Spain and Europe during the three months of the summer season at more affordable prices. The program includes both train and bus transportation, and registrations have reached around 1.2 million.

This is what the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility stated in a press release announcing the ratification, by the Plenary Session of the Congress of Deputies , of the royal decree-law that establishes measures to promote the use of public land transport by young people during the summer period , both in Spain and in Europe.

This royal decree-law, which was approved by the Council of Ministers on June 10 at the proposal of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, has received the green light from the lower house by 177 votes in favor and 136 abstentions .

For the 2025 edition, the Ministry will allocate €120 million. This will cover discounts on single and return tickets for travel within Spain and Interrail travel within Europe, which will be available to young people born between January 1, 1995, and December 31, 2007.

Thus, discounts will be available for travel from July 1 to September 30, 2025 .
