Electric vehicle sales in Colombia reach a record high of 8,859 units in 2025.

The electric vehicle market in Colombia is experiencing its best year yet. According to the most recent report on new registrations from Andi and Fenalco, 8,859 units were registered between January and July 2025, a figure representing a 179% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when 3,178 were registered.
July was key to breaking this record. That month, 1,565 electric cars were registered, surpassing the June figure (1,141) by more than 100 units and consolidating its position as the best month of 2025 and the second highest on record, behind only December 2024, when 1,937 registrations were reported.
The upswing has been consolidating since October 2024, a period in which monthly sales stabilized around 1,000 units. For the unions, this performance confirms the shift in the national vehicle fleet toward clean technologies and reflects the regulatory and tax incentives that promote electromobility.

The hybrid vehicle segment is not far behind. During July, 7,636 units were registered , the highest monthly figure since there was registration and higher than the 5,605 vehicles registered in December 2024.
Year-to-date, hybrids have registered 33,177 new units, representing a year-over-year increase of 61% compared to the 20,640 registered in the same period in 2024.
According to the unions, the positive trend for electric and hybrid vehicles is due to the increased model offering, improved charging infrastructure, and the impact of public policies geared toward the energy transition.
