Income Tax: Which single and married workers will be affected in July?

With the May inflation rate, the minimum income tax payments have been updated. See the gross and net salary starting point for taxation in July 2025.

May's inflation rate , which reached 1.5%, allows us to estimate the new minimum wages for income tax, which will take effect in July.

Workers whose gross and net salaries exceed certain amounts will be subject to withholdings from their paychecks. These amounts are updated based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and determine who will begin to pay taxes during the second half of 2025.

The amounts determining the obligation to pay Income Tax vary depending on the worker's family situation, such as marital status and the number of dependent children. In July, the minimum net wage for a single person to pay Income Tax will be $1,933,316.83 , while for a married couple with two children, it will be $2,563,879.85 .

A single person will pay Income Tax from $1,933,316.83 net if the inflation rate of May is repeated.

Tax consultant Ariel Bassanetti explained that, with a projected monthly inflation rate of 1.5% for June, similar to that of May, the inflation rate for the first half of 2025 will reach 14.96% . This allows us to predict how the minimum wages will be affected by the application of the Income Tax in the monthly settlements for July.

According to Bassanetti, those who will pay Income Tax will be those workers with gross incomes exceeding $2,329,287.39 for singles, equivalent to a net salary of $1,933,316.83 . For married couples with two children, the gross floor will be $3,089,011.87 , with a take-home pay of $2,563,879.85 . He also detailed the values for other family burdens: a single person with one child will begin to pay taxes from $2,520,039.89 gross and $2,091,633.11 net; while a married person with one child will do so from $2,898,269.36 gross and $2,405,563.57 net.

Income Tax in July 2025: adjustments to deductions

In addition to the minimum wages, the scales and deductions allowed for calculating taxes will also be updated. Ariel Bassanetti specified that, on July pay stubs, the deductions will be as follows: Non-Taxable Income (GNI) will be set at $3,916,268 and the special deduction at $18,798,088 . Meanwhile, deductions for spouses or cohabitants will reach $3,688,339 , while deductions for children will be $1,860,042 .

Other relevant items that will also be updated include disabled children ( $3,720,085 ), tuition expenses ( $1,566,507 ), domestic service ( $3,916,268 ), and rental housing ( $3,916,268 ). Finally, annual deductions related to life insurance, retirement premiums, and mixed insurance savings will total $573,817 .

Bassanetti emphasized that some expenses, such as contributions to provincial pension funds, work clothes, and contributions to mutual guarantee societies (SGR), have no specific limits and are considered at the time of settlement. He also noted that other items, such as medical plans, medical fees, and donations, are deductible based on a percentage of non-taxable income.
