Jorge Carrillo breaks the silence on his controversial appointment to the Presidency of ISA

Following the multiple questions that have arisen around his appointment as president of ISA, for the first time, Jorge Carrillo spoke out on the subject and defended his appointment, which became effective on September 2, 2024.
"I am clear about who I am and what my management has been like. I am also very clear that I have a number of ill-wishers; some inherited and others that I will assume are lacking information, but this is a democracy and opinions are allowed," he said.
He also said that the claims made about him and his appointment at ISA have “a lack of objectivity and verification” and have been made “in a biased manner.”
"I am confident about my actions, but knowing the members of the board of directors, I would dare to say that what is being reported or misinformed did not happen," he added.

Additionally, Jorge Carrillo commented that he has the capabilities and skills to be in charge of the Presidency of ISA, which is now one of Ecopetrol's subsidiaries.
“I presented the evidence and documentation that was requested of me, so I can certify that I told the absolute truth. My documents reflect my career and I feel very proud and honored to be in this position, but also absolutely calm about my participation in the process of electing the president of ISA,” he said.
In response to the lawsuit filed by the Council of State against his appointment, Jorge Carrillo said that his defense strategy “is based on truth and objectivity. I feel absolutely calm and satisfied with that, I trust the Council of State completely.”
"I deeply regret that some media outlets have agreed to publish information without verifying it and I trust that the Council of State will not allow itself to be contaminated by this information," he added.

He also stressed that he has been managing a company such as Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) for nearly three years, which was a factor in the process of choosing the new president of ISA.
“I feel absolutely competent and, of course, I have things to learn. But from what I have verified, the only candidate who came from a company that had more assets, more revenues and more geographies than ISA, was me,” he said.
The president of ISA also believes that “there are flaws in the company’s corporate governance” because information has been disclosed “in a way that does not correspond to the mechanisms that are regulated.”
“It is clear that there is animosity towards me, which I will not reciprocate. I have a higher duty, which is to manage this company with all due diligence, without allowing myself to be distracted or contaminated. I will not put myself down, I will show results and who I am as president of the company. I am calm and confident,” he said.

In response to some claims about the National Government's intention to change the official address of ISA from Medellín to Cartagena, Jorge Carrillo said that it is a decision that must be made by the General Shareholders' Meeting.
In this regard, he stated that this issue "is not included in the agenda of the meeting to be held on March 26, either under study or as a proposal."
"I have not received any call from any board member or shareholder to prepare this point to take to the meeting," he added.
