The Comptroller's Office launches the Geoportal, which allows citizens to monitor the progress of public works in Colombia.

The Office of the Comptroller General of the Nation (Information, Analysis and Immediate Reaction Directorate), led by Juan Camilo Zuluaga, presents this July 17th the Geoportal , a technological tool that makes available to citizens, control entities, academia and the private sector an interactive geographic portal to consult, visualize and analyze official spatial information freely and securely.
"This platform, developed by the Directorate of Information, Analysis, and Immediate Reaction (DIARI), allows for visualization of the physical and financial progress of projects and strengthens social oversight, transparency, and the State's preventive action," the Comptroller's Office announced on its social media channels.
According to Diari, the development of the Geoportal involved consolidating disparate official sources, defining technical standards, building a robust technological architecture, and integrating advanced geospatial functionalities.
The tool, based on geographic information technology (GIS), allows you to locate public works projects across the country and answer key questions such as:
- Where and how much is being invested?
- What is the physical and financial progress?
- How are investments distributed in the country?
With the development of this platform, the Comptroller General's Office seeks to strengthen transparency, promote citizen oversight, and improve institutional fiscal oversight capacities through strategic and territorial monitoring of the use of public resources.
