What is XChat, the app with which Elon Musk intends to dethrone WhatsApp?

Elon Musk has announced on his X profile that he has launched a new instant messaging service called XChat , which brings together several services. Among them, it allows you to make voice and video calls, send photos, GIFs, and voice messages, similar to other applications such as WhatsApp , Instagram, or Telegram .
Of course, this chat is within X and is not an independent app, which is logical considering Musk's strategy of turning the old Twitter into a 'super app' .
Elon Musk vs. WhatsApp: This is XChat, his new messaging service. As Wired reports , XChat could replace direct messages. The content of calls and video calls will be encrypted, and you won't need to enter your phone number . It will also allow you to create group chats, record voice notes, and respond with emoji reactions.
It also includes the option to send messages that are deleted after viewing , mark messages as unread, share files, and even set a four-digit password to protect messages, according to TechCrunch .
Regarding its architecture, the magnate has commented that it is built on a Rust programming language and with "Bitcoin-style" (cryptocurrency) encryption, which he calls a completely new architecture .
Opinions are divided on this, as several users claim that this architecture lacks an end-to-end encryption system and has other security features. It's clear that security in a messaging system like this is essential, so it will have to comply with this requirement.
When will XChat be available? For now, it's only available to a select group of users. Musk assures us that XChat will be available this week on the mobile versions of the app, for both paying and free subscribers.
