2025 stamps pay tribute to iconic figures

Each year, La Poste issues commemorative stamps to honor figures who have left their mark on French history. In 2025 and 2026, several exceptional women will be honored, demonstrating their influence in various fields such as culture, science, humanitarian work, and politics.
These stamps are not only useful or collectible objects, but also witnesses to the evolution of French society and the growing place of women in cultural, scientific and humanitarian spheres.
Small objects that can be worth goldBut these small objects can potentially increase in value over time , for several reasons well known to collectors and philately experts.
Over the years, many stamps issued in limited quantities are lost, damaged, or stuck on mail. Those that remain in good condition then become rarer. Rarity is a key criterion in the value of a collectible.
A stamp featuring prominent figures, for example, might generate growing interest as their legacy is reevaluated or given greater prominence in books, films, or future commemorations.
Some stamps are printed in very limited quantities or in special formats (blocks, booklets, hand-engraved stamps, etc.). The smaller the print run, the higher the potential for increased value. Special blocks such as the one issued for the Red Cross may be of interest to targeted collectors.
Personalities enjoy worldwide fame . Foreign collectors may seek out these stamps, which increases their demand... and their price on the secondary market.
For example, the "Marianne de Gandon" stamp from the 1940s was worth a few cents when it was issued. Today, some rare editions fetch over €1,000. Booklets issued for special events (universal exhibitions, centenaries) regularly resell for 5 to 10 times their original price.
