On the grievance books of the French people who will be joining the blockades here and there on Wednesday, September 10, the question of making ends meet appears in many ways. Many are denouncing the budget of former Prime Minister François Bayrou, who asked a lot from those who have little , advocating painful austerity. They decry the salaries that do not change, the budgets that are increasingly difficult to maintain, the impossible trade-offs when it comes to filling shopping carts, so far removed from the government's concerns. During the "farewell drinks" organized throughout France on Monday, September 8, after the fall of the Prime Minister, these concerns were omnipresent.

As in Paris, in the 20th arrondissement, where at least 200 people gathered in Place Gambetta. "It's a great victory tonight! The next government should think about the poor and retirees. Everything is expensive, everything is increasing," Amina Elrhardour, 60, told Agence France-Presse (AFP). In the Southwest, a 43-year-old tour guide told Reuters: "I am extremely angry with the political system in place in France, which favors large corporations, super-rich billionaires (...) and, little by little, is nibbling away at the rights of the French working class, who are the ones who make the country go round."
