In a press release published on social media, the association announced that it had been the victim of a major theft of donations intended for its next charity sale.

New clothes, shoes and toys that have mysteriously disappeared. In a statement published on social networks , the Secours populaire of Gardanne, in Bouches-du-Rhône, announced that last weekend they were the victim of a burglary in their storage garage, where donations intended for the next charity sale were stored.

“This sale was intended to raise essential funds to finance our 2025 holiday campaign, thus offering our beneficiary families the opportunity to escape from everyday life,” explains Secours populaire . “We are deeply shocked by this act, which compromises our efforts to support the most vulnerable. Due to this incident, we are temporarily unable to accept new clothing donations.”

The association announced that it had filed a complaint and appealed for solidarity. Last fall, the Secours populaire had already been the victim of a similar theft , a few kilometers away, in Aubagne. Many toys had been stolen.
