Dordogne Prefecture Files Complaint for Death Threats and Defamatory Remarks

In a press release, the Dordogne prefecture announced that it was filing a complaint for "irresponsible and dangerous remarks," including death threats made against the sub-prefect of Nontron, Benoît Legrand, as well as defamatory remarks against the president of the chamber of agriculture, the veterinary service agents of the DDETSPP, and the traders who contributed to the cattle roundup operations.
This situation arises in the context of the health crisis affecting a cattle farm in the department , that of Serge Deschamps in Eyzerac. "Mr. Deschamps' complex situation has unfortunately given rise to the spread of false information, particularly on social networks, by people who are unaware of the realities on the ground and the imperatives of health protection."
At the same time, the Rural Coordination issued a statement opposing unjustified slaughter. "CR 24 wishes to loudly reaffirm its policy: to protect farmers and their herds against arbitrary, absurd, and destructive administrative decisions." The union is calling for an immediate end to total slaughter in the Dordogne, for no more animals to be slaughtered without a positive test, and for a consistent protocol to be followed.
