Ligue 1: Stéphanie Frappart appointed to referee OM-Nantes

This is necessarily highly anticipated information in the current context. While the Auxerre-OM match (3-0) was marked by Pablo Longoria's immense anger against the refereeing , the LFP has appointed Stéphanie Frappart as the main referee for the match between Marseille and Nantes, Sunday evening at the Vélodrome (8:45 p.m.).
This will be the second time this season that Stéphanie Frappart will be officiating a Marseille match. She was already the referee for the Toulouse-OM match on 31 August on the occasion of the 3rd day of Ligue 1, a match won 3-1 by the Marseille club and marked by the expulsion of Toulouse's Frank Magri in the 27th minute.
Stéphanie Frappart's decisions will be closely scrutinized after Pablo Longoria's controversial remarks against the refereeing of the match against Auxerre. In the bowels of the Abbé-Deschamps stadium, Longoria notably used the terms "corruption" and "shitty championship" .
On Monday, the Spanish leader wanted to come back on these statements. "I want to say that there is no corruption in French football," admitted the president of OM to AFP , assuring that he "regrets" having used this term. "The form was not appropriate and this word, I regret it."
Longoria will explain himself before the disciplinary committee this Wednesday, February 26. He will know his possible sanction that same evening. According to lawyers specializing in these cases, the notion of "rude/insulting behavior" could be retained. If this is the case, Longoria would be exposed to a sanction of 12 games of suspension . But this is a scale and the sanction can vary according to the circumstances of the facts. The minimum sanction is three games of suspension.
