Antagnac: the future eco-responsible micro-nursery is taking shape

The village of Antagnac has laid the first plank of its micro-nursery, a project born in 2021 which should open its doors in January 2026.
On Friday, the village of Antagnac celebrated a long-awaited moment: the laying of the first plank of its micro-nursery, scheduled to open in January 2026. Surrounded by elected officials, Jérémie Bezos, mayor of Antagnac, retraced the history of this project, born in 2021, initially led by two individuals wishing to create a childminders' house.
The future building, measuring 150 m², will be designed with a wooden frame and equipped with photovoltaic panels. It will accommodate a dozen children, supervised by four early learning assistants recruited almost full-time, and a part-time director already hired.
Eco-responsible nurseryAll partners, Michel Gourioux (sub-prefect), Christine Bonfanty (senator), Julie Castillo and Aymeric Dupuy (departmental councilors), Raymond Girardi (president of the Communauté de Communes des Coteaux et Landes de Gascogne), the mayors and elected officials of the surrounding areas, the CAF 47, the Rural Home Help (ADMR), the regional development company SEM47, as well as the architects were present at the gathering. The ADMR will handle administrative management, based on the model of the Passage-d'Agen micro-crèche. Its manager, Ms. Vallée, specified that recruitment will begin in October for a position to start in mid-December. The entire team will benefit from a week of collective training before the opening, to promote cohesion and best prepare for the start.
"The structure, designed in an eco-responsible manner, meets local expectations. Seven families have already expressed their needs, and three children are pre-registered. This type of facility is an asset for the attractiveness of municipalities, particularly for families wishing to settle there," says Ms. Vallée. Elected officials unanimously welcomed this initiative as a major step forward for the city, which has long been under-equipped in terms of early childhood care. For Raymond Girardi and Aymeric Dupuy, it represents a strategic turning point and a concrete response to the needs of the region.
