Lanton: a project management competition to redevelop the heart of Cassy

The city council has launched a call for tenders for the redevelopment of the area, including the construction of a new tourist office and a market hall.
The redevelopment project of the Cœur de Cassy , current home of the sports facilities (football and tennis) and the tourist office (OT), was on the agenda on Thursday at the Municipal Council.
Let us recall that on this plot, in addition to 2 hectares dedicated to a real estate project, 3,000 m² are being retained by the town hall, which plans to build a new tourist office, a covered market hall, and a public square. The rapporteur and first deputy, Jean-Jacques Lacombe, clarified the selection procedures: based on the submitted applications meeting the specifications – "one of the conditions being that the extension of the planned route between the Vélodyssée and the Bassin be included" – three candidates will be selected. Each of them will then be responsible for a sketch mission, paid a bonus of 8,200 euros excluding tax, and will be ranked before the final selection by the tender committee, which will meet twice, on October 31 and in February.
Virginie Malet (EPL group) said she was "surprised" by such a decision, given that "opposition elected officials were not summoned to the preparatory working committee," and that she was not aware of the specifications. Marie-France Cavernes (Eilo group) supported her and also saw this choice as a "provocation" "two months before the elections."
The rapporteur defended himself against "respecting the protocol's procedure." Adopted by majority (7 votes against opposition).
Urban planning was also discussed with the deliberation entitled "compatibility between the commune's PLU and the Sybarval Scot". This actually involves "entrusting an analysis mission to the Créham firm" to identify current and future stumbling blocks between Lanton's PLU, still in the development phase, and the Scot, specified the first deputy who, instead of "compliance" prefers to speak of "compatibility": "we must get closer to the objectives of the Scot with reasonable deviations".
Questioned about the value of such a deliberation, the two opposition groups abstained. Voted by majority.
EPL also relayed the words of a Blagon collective, which reported that 95% of residents are opposed to the project for 110 additional housing units, which "will double the population in one fell swoop," with social and environmental impacts. According to Marie Larrue, it's an opportunity; local entrepreneurs are in favor, and the change will be gradual.
