Marketing, communication, logistics… how much can you earn on an internship in 2025?

A recent study by the JobTeaser website reveals the average remuneration for master's-level internships in 2025. The survey also highlights significant trends in intern recruitment for companies.
Based on the analysis of 1,358 Master's level internship offers, discover the average salaries offered which go well beyond the mandatory legal minimum.
The average remuneration for internships in France reaches €1,188 (net), almost double the mandatory legal minimum imposed on companies. This is a high amount given that these internship offers are for students nearing the end of their studies. To be among the top 25% of the highest-paid internships, you should aim for offers above €1,600.
The study highlights a near-perfect equality between profiles from business schools and engineering schools. Engineers earn an average of €1,181, compared to €1,227 for business school graduates, a difference of only €46.
This average hides significant disparities depending on the profession and region. The podium of the most well-paid internships according to the targeted profession:
Conversely, jobs related to communication (986 euros) or customer service (891 euros) appear to be less well paid.
Territorial disparities remain marked: remuneration in Île-de-France is on average 15% higher (€1,221) than in other regions (€1,058). Furthermore, large companies offer remuneration 13% higher than SMEs (€1,278 vs. €1,130).
The study reveals that salary transparency plays a crucial role in the attractiveness of internship offers. Displaying compensation boosts applications by an average of 28%. For engineering profiles, the effect is even more spectacular, with 80% more applications . SMEs, which receive 2.5 times more applications per offer than large corporations, also appear to be benefiting from this trend.
Juliette Laborie, CEO of JobTeaser, adds: "This observation confirms a strong demand from Generation Z: salary transparency is essential. Companies that hide their salaries are shooting themselves in the foot, particularly among engineering profiles, who are more sought-after."
In France, remember that the remuneration for an internship is subject to certain rules. It is not a salary, but a "gratuity" which is mandatory for internships of more than 2 months , consecutive or not, during the same school or university year. The minimum amount of the gratuity is 4.35 euros per hour of internship, which corresponds to 15% of the hourly ceiling of Social Security, set at 29 euros in 2025.
For a full-time internship (35 hours/week), the minimum monthly amounts vary depending on the number of days worked:
The gratuity, provided for in the internship agreement , is paid at the end of each month and is due from the first day of the internship if the planned duration is greater than 2 months. It is exempt from income tax up to the annual amount of the minimum wage.
