"For once we hear about him...": it's hard to emerge when you're a second minister

Bayrou's government has 35 members, many of whom remain unknown to the general public. Some struggle to find their place in the role of their supervisory minister, which can sometimes lead to frustration.

As Emmanuel Macron drove down the Champs-Élysées to reach the Place de la Concorde in his Command Car, he was greeted just before the start of the parade by Patricia Mirallès, his Minister Delegate for Remembrance and Veterans Affairs.
"Hey, she's going to be on TV," one of his counterparts chuckles to another, watching the scene. This slightly condescending little phrase nevertheless sums up the sad reality of certain ministers in the Bayrou government .
