2026 Municipal Elections: A Deep Disagreement Between Renaissance and Horizons in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine

The Youth with Macron party in the department expressed its outrage in a press release Wednesday evening after Laurent Brosse, the outgoing mayor of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, was named leader by Horizons for the 2026 municipal elections in the city.
Macron supporters point to the elected official's initial conviction in October 2023 for harassment, sexual assault, and kidnapping of his former partner. The official received a one-year suspended prison sentence and five years of ineligibility . He has appealed his conviction—the hearing date is not yet known—and therefore remains presumed innocent.
