The former financial representative of the RN MP for Hérault claims to have given the elected official's parents free rein during the 2022 legislative elections. He has filed a complaint and accuses them of identity theft.

Who managed the RN Aurélien Lopez-Liguori's campaign account for the 2022 legislative elections ? His financial agent at the time, Jean-Louis Cousin, claims in any case that it wasn't him. According to him, he was replaced at the time in his duties, which were strictly regulated by law, by the parents of the current MP for the 7th constituency of Hérault, Carole Liguori and André Lopez.

If proven, these facts would constitute a serious irregularity, which could lead to the outright rejection of the account in question, even though it was validated in 2022 by the National Commission for Campaign Accounts and Political Financing (CNCCFP). According to the body, "a third party may not under any circumstances replace the financial agent. The latter acts in the name and on behalf of the candidate, within the strict framework defined by the electoral code. He or she is the only person authorized to carry out the financial operations of the campaign after declaration to the prefecture."

In November, Jean-Louis Cousin filed a complaint at the Agde police station against Aurélien Lopez-Liguori for "theft", "misappropriation or destruction of property from a public depot"
