Longwy. Herserange Viaduct: an update on the work and land for sale

A historic viaduct at the end of its life will be destroyed this summer. After three months of work, to reconstruct, among other things, a replacement road located below the viaduct, it will be "eat away piece by piece over a period of five weeks starting on August 5. With electrical cables running through the structure, it was impossible to blow it up," explains Jean-Luc Touly, head of the studies and works department at the Meurthe-et-Moselle departmental council.
During the work, the RD196 between Herserange and Haucourt-Moulaine will be completely closed to traffic . Motorists will have to plan ahead and use the diversions in place.
On-site recyclingAt the helm of this major project is the Lingenheld construction company. Around fifteen employees work in shifts every day, firstly for road rehabilitation and secondly for earthworks and the advancement of the Les Terrasses de la Moulaine real estate complex.
Even though the company specializes in this type of restructuring, Richard Robert, branch manager, acknowledges that the bridge represents nearly 4,000 cubic meters of concrete and 300 tons of steel to be removed: "The materials (earth, stones) that we remove are generally recycled on site. For example, scrap metal will be resold within our internal network. The back-and-forth of trucks corresponds to this type of debris."
20,000 euros per areAnother project being carried out in parallel is Les Terrasses de la Moulaine. This is a real estate complex with a total of 1,000 housing units. A town within the town of Herserange. It will include shops, human-sized buildings, single-family homes, an after-school center, and more. On average, the sale price for plots of land free of construction is set at nearly €20,000 per are. In fact, some have already been sold.
Finally, the marketing of collective housing is planned for September by the real estate branch of the Lingenheld company.
