This will have to be explained to the children. The desert is growing, the sea is rising, the glaciers are melting, and snow is nothing more than a memory. It's 45 degrees in the shade, but it's all so that companies can make more money. On Monday, European states agreed, writes Les Échos , to revise the two directives on which the Green Deal adopted in 2019 was based.

This follows a report by Mario Draghi, who rose from Goldman Sachs to become President of the European Central Bank and then, for a time, President of the Italian Council of Ministers, whose advice is still valued. He concluded that the burden of environmental regulations on businesses was an obstacle to competitiveness.

As a result, the so-called duty of care will now only apply to companies with more than 5,000 employees instead of 1,000, and 85% of companies will be exempt from the obligations of what is called ESG (environmental, social and governance) reporting. Mom, Dad, what's the deluge? Shut up and swim.
