"At the time, I didn't know who he was." Pierre Ieri remembers the impromptu visit of "a Parisian" to his Gibus boutique on Rue des Jardins. "He told me we weren't expensive. I looked down on him a bit, reminding him we were in Metz," says the president of the Quartier des Jardins traders' association. "At the same time, the guy had a real knowledge of design. It was Kévin Michienzi , my vice-president who runs La Brocante de Kév, right next door, who alerted me: But it's Julien Cohen, from Affaire Conclue !"

The visit to Lorraine by the star antique dealer, who no longer appeared on the TV show, took place in March 2023. Le Républicain Lorrain reported on it. The entrepreneur with blue glasses told us he had been seduced by this cobblestone street leading to the cathedral from the Pontiffroy . Two years later, it was Pierre Ieri and his forty members who invited "this figure from the Puces de Saint-Ouen" to return to the Lorraine capital. After having "very kindly imitated" him in a video - "€300, that's your last price, are you sure?" - the trader is delighted that he agreed to participate in the 18th edition of their garage sale, this Sunday, June 22!

The event will see individuals and professionals set up their stalls on rue des Jardins (closed to car traffic), rue de l'Arsenal, quai Félix-Maréchal and on "the Pont Saint-Georges for the first time," before the public arrives, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. "To organize a tasteful flea market, we have selected leading figures from our network, like Phil, from Spike & Co, who will be coming from Pont-à-Mousson, people who work with Parisian galleries, and, of course, Philippe, the neighbor of Broc en Stock," reveals Pierre Ieri.

Everyone will be able to eat. "With coffees and croissants from Yohan ( L'Académie des chefs ) and dishes from Justin (Le coup de Ju), Jordan (Le Cagibi) or the caterer Nouvelle Asie, who will also be selling vintage pop from the 70s with Le Biclou de Mémé ," lists Carine Guichou, her partner, a stakeholder in the organization. Malala already sees herself there. "This flea market is one of the few to exist in the city center. I used to go there as a customer. This time, I'm going to sell, opposite my daughter's stand," rejoices the Messine. Who knows, maybe she'll be lucky enough to run into Julien Cohen? The entrepreneur, who loves beautiful objects, will appraise those presented to him from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. With the acuity of a connoisseur.
