How Adolf Hitler's remains were identified

How Adolf Hitler's remains were identified

Adolf Hitler died eighty years ago, on April 30, 1945. All that remains of his body are fragments of his skull and dentures, still preserved in the highly secure archives of the Russian secret service in Moscow. In 2017, forensic pathologist Philippe Charlier, accompanied by journalist Jean-Christophe Brisard, was able to access these fragments in the hope of unraveling the final mysteries surrounding the Nazi dictator's disappearance.

Did Hitler really die in 1945, or did he manage to escape? Thanks to a series of meticulous analyses, one element in particular has helped to settle this question, which has fueled fantasies for decades. The answer lies... in his teeth.

And what Hitler's jaw reveals, modeled for the first time in 3D in this video from Le Monde , could well close the case once and for all.
