Why is it advisable to disable the blue Meta AI circle in WhatsApp and how to do it

Meta AI has recently arrived in various applications. Whether it's Facebook, WhatsApp, or Instagram, you've probably seen this little blue circle in your chats. This new tool can answer questions, search for information, offer suggestions, or even generate various types of content to assist you in your daily life.
Within the WhatsApp app, the presence of Meta AI is indicated by a distinct icon, often a blue-tinted circle, typically appearing in the bottom right corner of the main chat interface or near the search bar. However, many users have begun to complain about this feature, which they don't necessarily see as useful. Their most legitimate question, therefore, is: can we get rid of Meta AI?

It's important to note that Meta currently doesn't offer any options to disable or permanently remove Meta AI from the WhatsApp app. The assistant remains an integrated component of the software, with no option for the user to remove it. However, there are ways to minimize its visibility.
If you've started a conversation with Meta AI, you can remove it from your main chat list. To do this, simply open your usual WhatsApp app. Depending on your smartphone, the procedure is as follows:
- On Android: Long-press (on Android) the Meta AI conversation. You will then have the option to delete (trash can icon) and archive (folder icon) the conversation so that you no longer see it in the app.
- On iPhone: Swipe up on the conversation with Meta AI and select "archive" or "delete." This will hide the conversation without disabling the assistant.
The simplest approach to limiting interaction with Meta AI is to actively ignore it. This means not clicking its quick access icon, not initiating direct dialogue, and refraining from invoking it in group conversations via the @MetaAI mention.
If you're wondering why some users choose not to use Meta AI, it's primarily for privacy reasons. The forced integration of this tool raises many questions about the use of the data used. While Meta claims that end-to-end encryption protects the content of private messages from access by the AI, questions remain about the company's data collection and use. Meta can easily use its assistant's responses and conversations to improve its performance with other users.
