A man suffocates and kills his 34-year-old wife on the street in full view of passers-by. Her husband was arrested by the Carabinieri for femicide.

A 34-year-old Peruvian woman and mother of two was killed late yesterday evening, suffocated by her husband, a 40-year-old Peruvian man, on the street in Macherio , in the province of Monza and Brianza . The murder occurred on Via Visconti, a few hundred meters from the house where the woman lived. According to initial reports, shortly before midnight between Wednesday, July 16th and Thursday, July 17th, a violent argument broke out between the couple in the middle of the street. The argument escalated until the man attacked his wife , suffocating her.

The incident occurred before the astonished eyes of several passersby. It was they, frightened by the screams and violence at the scene, who immediately raised the alarm, calling 112. The Carabinieri and an ambulance arrived on the scene within minutes. Unfortunately, there was nothing more that could be done for the woman. The officers immediately arrested her husband, who was still at the scene. The man was taken to the police station and questioned throughout the night, in the presence of the deputy prosecutor on duty at the Monza Public Prosecutor's Office, Michele Trianni.

Following the interrogation, an arrest warrant was issued against him on charges of voluntary manslaughter . Investigations are continuing to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
