A shooting in Manhattan has left at least six dead and several injured. The attacker was either murdered or committed suicide.

A shooting occurred in New York in the late afternoon, killing and injuring several people in a Manhattan building that houses the offices of major financial firms.
Around 6:30 PM (midnight Italian time) —a gunman enters the 44-story skyscraper at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. He's wearing a bulletproof vest and clutching a semi-automatic rifle in his right hand. Once on the 33rd floor, he opens fire. The first person to be killed is the security officer: he was an immigrant from Bangladesh. As news spread, it becomes clear that this is another American massacre .
In total , at least six people have died, including the killer . The motive is unknown, but police say the attacker had a history of mental health issues.

The shooter has been identified as Shane Tamura, a 27-year-old resident of Las Vegas, Nevada , with no significant criminal record. The motive for the attack is currently unknown. According to some sources, he is a former Canadian football player. Psychotropic drugs, weapons, and magazines were found in his car. Police say he had a history of mental illness , but this did not prevent him from obtaining a valid Nevada gun license.
Tamura allegedly carried out the massacre on the floor that houses the headquarters of the National Football League, the American football league.
Security cameras show the man walking down the street: dark glasses, sneakers, black pants, a blue jacket, and a light blue shirt, with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle in his right hand. The man takes an elevator to the 32nd and 33rd floors, where he kills at least four people. The Rudin offices are located on the 33rd floor, where he was found dead. According to the police , he took his own life . Other sources say he was "neutralized," a euphemism for killing by law enforcement.
The building where the shooting took place, at 345 Park Avenue, between 51st and 52nd Streets, is almost 200 metres tall and houses the offices of Blackstone – one of the largest investment firms in the world – but also Deutsche Bank , JP Morgan , the National Football League and the Consulate of Ireland .
The city's emergency management alert system reported traffic delays, road closures, and public transport disruptions in the area.
