Ancona takes the field against Forlì. Maurizi is looking for a real team.

On the day marked by the news of the death of longtime club doctor Remo Gaetti , Ancona met at the Sorrentino stadium at 5pm for their second post-retreat training session , where coach Maurizi also had the opportunity to test out some of the mechanisms ahead of today's friendly match behind closed doors in Forlì at 5.30pm.

Naturally, this will mean the absence of two players, Meola and Zini, who have been sidelined to prepare for training with their teammates immediately after mid-August. The club, after its transformation into a limited liability company (SSDARL), and while awaiting the official signing of new shareholders from Rome and Ancona, continues its market search to meet the needs of Maurizi and his staff: a striker and a midfielder , with the former being top priority.

With D'Este out of the picture, the staff and the club are working together to close one of the open deals as quickly as possible: these are Serie C players, either in training camp with their respective teams or, at least, working with them. Ancona has made its offers and is now awaiting responses. All this is aimed at finding a viable alternative—one with experience and the potential to make a difference—to Kouko and the young Giordani. Meanwhile, on the midfield front, Fabio Castellano, who had been in the Biancorossi's sights, has been chosen to join a club closer to his home. The search continues, therefore, with a primary focus on a center forward, a position in which former Siena player Semprini has been linked to Ancona but has not been seriously interested by the coaching staff.

Meanwhile, Luca Gelonese, a candidate for the captain's armband, is giving his teammates a boost: "Preparation is going very well. It's important to work on the concepts the coach wants right now and become a real team as quickly as possible, so we can be ready for the start of the season. I tell the fans that we'll give our all every day to make them proud, promising to give our all and never hold back. We're working to become a team that makes the fans proud on the pitch. Our understanding with Gerbaudo is growing. We've only known each other for a short time and we get along well both personally and on a sporting level, but in midfield, as in the rest of the team, we have other good players. We need to get to know each other well."

Goalkeeper Gregorio Salvati is on the same wavelength: "My first impressions in the red and white jersey are excellent. There's a great fan base, and it's a special feeling to step onto the pitch wearing these colors and with the kind of support we saw and felt at Castelraimondo. It should be a boost for us; the fans are on our side and will give us a big hand. Ancona? A very important club, which will push me to improve day after day."
