Driving the wrong way for 7 km on the highway, 4 dead and one woman injured

Four people were killed and one injured in a serious road accident on the Turin-Milan highway, between Novara Est and Marcallo, in Lombardy near the border with Piedmont. A car driven by an 82-year-old man, who also died, entered the highway in the wrong direction and drove for 7 kilometers before causing a head-on collision. The man was from Cerano, in the Novara area. Four people were traveling in the other car: three men, all of whom died, and a 37-year-old woman, who was taken to Niguarda Hospital in Milan with critical condition. The accident forced the closure of a section of the highway, causing long traffic jams.
