Fire danger and 40-degree temperatures in Sardinia, while rain and severe weather are expected in Piedmont and Liguria.

From a heat emergency with temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius and wildfires, to a rain and severe weather emergency. These are the various scenarios forecast for today across the country, where different Civil Protection units have issued different alerts.
In Sardinia, the heatwave is heating up, with temperatures threatening to reach 40 degrees, especially in inland areas.
High temperatures, exceeding 37 degrees, are forecast for the next 24 hours "in the western part of Sardinia, particularly in the northern part." Very high temperatures are forecast for August 28th in the southern and eastern parts, with peaks "above 40 degrees."
Following the heat emergency is the fire emergency. The Civil Protection Department has also issued a bulletin indicating high (orange) fire danger in 14 of 25 areas in the western part of the country. The other 11 areas are classified as medium (yellow). With the orange alert, "conditions are such that a fire with high intensity and rapid spread could develop, which, if not addressed promptly, could reach such a size that it would be difficult for ordinary forces, even reinforced, to control, requiring the assistance of the state fleet."
Weather conditions are uneven across Italy. A downpour struck Foggia yesterday afternoon, disrupting traffic and the public. Firefighters responded to several calls for flooding reported in various areas of the city. In Emilia Romagna, after the downpour of recent days and various coastal problems, the situation is expected to return to normal shortly. Restrictive ordinances will be issued by the mayors.
