Foggia, "The Way to Happiness" appeals: eco-volunteers are needed to revive the city.

One hour a week to restore beauty, dignity, and hope to the city's forgotten places. It is in this spirit that Marina Biancardino , president of the association La Via della Felicità of Foggia , has launched a heartfelt appeal to all the citizens of Capitanata : we need new strength, new eyes, new hands ready to care for the city, its streets, green spaces, and public spaces often left to decay.
The association, active for years in urban redevelopment, environmental cleanups, and sustainability education , now boasts hundreds of initiatives and thousands of hours donated to the community . From waste collection to graffiti and vandalism removal, the volunteers' work has become a benchmark for those who believe in a more livable and civilized Foggia.
A simple, yet contagious gesture"Anyone who wants to donate an hour a week to improve our environment is welcome," says Marina Biancardino . "We need people who want to join us, even if only occasionally. Everyone's commitment is needed to revive Foggia's beauty."
The invitation is open to everyone: young people, adults, families, students, and workers. The only requirement is a willingness to contribute, even with small gestures, to concrete and visible change . The group meets weekly, choosing different areas of the city each time, often plagued by incivility and neglect.
Lead by example, to raise awarenessThe project is inspired by the common-sense guide "The Way to Happiness" by L. Ron Hubbard , from which the association takes its name. A text that, as Biancardino recalls, sums up the very meaning of volunteering in a single phrase: "A pebble thrown into the water can make waves reach the farthest shore." This is the message that inspires the volunteers: change starts from the bottom, and good example is contagious.
In recent years, volunteers have already noticed small signs of improvement : greater attention to urban decorum among citizens and a growing awareness, especially among the younger generation, of environmental issues.
How to participateAnyone interested in joining the initiative can write to [email protected] or contact Marina Biancardino at 349.809.2540 . There's no registration, no obligation: just the desire to contribute to a cleaner, more welcoming, and respected city.
