Gaza: Israeli tanks fire on tents of displaced people in al-Shati, another massacre of civilians.

The raid in Gaza City

A new day, a new massacre in the Gaza Strip. After resorting to ground operations on Monday in the town of Deir al-Balah , a city in the center of the Palestinian enclave where the Israeli army had not yet entered in a major manner and which had been bombarded less systematically and devastatingly than other areas, on Tuesday the IDF opened fire on tents housing displaced persons in the al-Shati camp, in western Gaza City .
The preliminary toll stands at least 13 Palestinians dead in the Israeli tank attack, with over twenty injured, as reported by the Guardian. The "Beach Camp" site, in western Gaza City, housed Palestinians displaced from other areas in the northern Strip.
There has been no immediate comment from the IDF , but according to multiple Israeli media reports, it will soon begin investigating the military operation in Gaza and its fighting methods. According to Ynet, the investigation, under the supervision of the General Staff, will examine the IDF's performance from October 2023 to the present in response to the Hamas terrorist attack.
According to Israeli media sources, the investigation will analyze the chosen combat methods and operational planning, which did not include a contingency plan for a full occupation of Gaza, due to the dominant conception of the IDF and political leadership before October 7. Military officials estimate that reviews of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip will take about a year, but completed ones could be presented to the Chief of Staff and the public.
Twenty-four hours after the Israeli attack on Deir al-Balah, it emerged today that the World Health Organization staff residence was among the facilities hit by the IDF. The Director General of the UN health agency, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus , personally reported the incident in a post on X, stating that the residence's main warehouse had also been attacked three times .

“Israeli soldiers entered the facility, forcing women and children to evacuate on foot to Al-Mawasi in the midst of active conflict,” Ghebreyesus wrote. “Male staff and their families were handcuffed, stripped, interrogated on the spot, and subjected to gunfire. Two WHO staff members and two family members were arrested . Three were later released, while one staff member remains detained. 32 WHO staff members and their family members were evacuated to the WHO office as soon as access was gained.” He added: “WHO calls for the immediate release of the arrested staff and the protection of all its staff.”
