Giving Hope a Roof: A Charity Competition for Don Rigoldi's Foundation

Giving Hope a Roof: A Charity Competition for Don Rigoldi's Foundation

Not just temporary housing, but a safe and stable environment for young people and families in need, where they can rebuild their lives. The goal is to guide them on a concrete path to independence, enhancing each person's skills, dreams, and potential. The project is called A Home to Start Again : 10 apartments available to the Don Gino Rigoldi Foundation, in the heart of Milan's Vigentino neighborhood, where 5 Square is located, a social housing complex that combines homes, shared spaces, and services open to the community.

In two years, the initiative has already supported 17 families (36 people of 12 different nationalities) on a journey from vulnerability to independence. Now, however, it is necessary to welcome new families, refine the model, and make this service more effective and replicable .

But A Home for Starting Over 2.0 requires resources—100,000 euros to be precise. Intesa Sanpaolo is supporting the initiative through a fundraising campaign under the Formula Program , dedicated to environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and access to the labor market for people in need. And that's not all. The bank will actively contribute to the 100,000 euro goal, contributing just 2 euros for many of the products purchased online by customers.

The project was selected within the Territorial Bank Division led by Stefano Barrese , in collaboration with Cesvi .

You have until August 31st to help the Foundation: you can participate HERE , on the For funding website, Intesa Sanpaolo's crowdfunding platform, dedicated to environmental sustainability, social inclusion and access to the job market for people in difficulty, with real-time updates on the amounts raised.

With the funds raised in the new 2.0 project, it will be possible to accommodate six adults in need and seven families, for a total of approximately 20 beneficiaries, including minors. Three apartments will be designated for sharing among young people, while the remaining seven will be dedicated to both single adults and families with minors. Furthermore, it will be possible to improve the service and make it replicable in other contexts through a monitoring and evaluation process, in collaboration with an external consultant.

"This project," explains Pierfilippo Pozzi , general director of the Don Gino Rigoldi Foundation, "offers a transition between homelessness and stable housing. We host people who, despite having a partial income, are currently excluded from both public and private housing options. We work with a focus on empowering them to become independent and develop the skills that will allow them to navigate not only the specific area they currently live in, but wherever they may find themselves in the future, because building social relationships is essential to overcoming fragility."

According to Pierluigi Monceri , regional director of Milan, Monza and Brianza at Intesa Sanpaolo, " A home to start again 2.0 will provide Milan with concrete support to accompany the most vulnerable towards new independence, contributing to people's well-being and job placement."

Joining forces creates value. He then emphasizes that the "Formula Program's approach promotes solidarity and a sense of community and demonstrates how joining forces creates value. In Lombardy, we have supported approximately 40 initiatives to date, with donations totaling over €4.5 million for young people, families, and the elderly, for inclusive social growth."

The initiative is part of the Group led by Carlo Messina's contribution to reducing social disparities in support of the country's growth, a strategic objective included in the 2018 Business Plan and developed by Intesa Sanpaolo's social department.
