Guerrini bronze at the world championships

Matteo Guerrini, a leading athlete of the Blu Atlantis Avis Ravenna club, achieved excellent placings in the monofin category at the Junior Indoor Finswimming World Championships held in Chios , Greece , last weekend.

Already a two-time member of the Italian national team and among the best athletes in the international youth scene, Guerrini, born in 2008, won the bronze medal in the 4x100 relay and was the protagonist of the qualification for the final of the 4x50 which he finished in third place, competing an excellent fraction. He also finished the 200 meters in eleventh place and the 400 and 800 in thirteenth place.

The Italian Under 18 national team collected a total of eight medals in the Greek event, finishing in sixth place in the nation rankings and improving several Italian records, confirming themselves at the highest levels.

Now Guerrini will focus on the next events that will be held in open water. The first one scheduled will be the Italian Championship of Viverone on July 25 and 26, during which the names of the athletes of the national team who will participate in the Junior World Championships of El Alamein in Egypt from October 7 to 12, the most important event of the season, will be announced.
