Heat eases its grip over the weekend, with three cities still under red alert today.

(Adnkronos) – The heat seems to be easing its grip a bit over the weekend, which appears cooler, at least as far as tomorrow, Saturday, July 26, is concerned. However, one provincial capital will still be under a red flag.

Meanwhile, today, Friday, July 25, three cities will still be under a red warning (Campobasso, Palermo, and Pescara), nine cities are under a level 2 risk with health risks for the most vulnerable (orange warning) (Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Frosinone, Messina, Perugia, Rieti, Reggio Calabria, and Rome), four are under a yellow warning (Ancona, Latina, Naples, and Viterbo), and 11 of the 27 monitored capitals are under a green warning (zero risk for heat waves): Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Civitavecchia, Florence, Genoa, Milan, Turin, Trieste, Venice, and Verona.

For the first day of the weekend, the Ministry of Health's heat bulletin calls for a green alert (zero risk for heat waves) for 19 of the 27 monitored provincial capitals: Ancona, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Campobasso, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Genoa, Latina, Milan, Naples, Rieti, Rome, Turin, Trieste, Venice, Verona, and Viterbo. A red alert (risk level 3, with potential health risks) is in effect only for Catania, and a yellow alert (pre-alert level, risk level 1) is in effect for the remaining seven cities: Bari, Cagliari, Messina, Palermo, Perugia, Pescara, and Reggio Calabria.
